How do I sponsor an event?

Sponsorship for each event is based on a pledge-per-pound system.  You can pledge any amount per pound in $0.01 increments.  The more you pledge, the larger your logo will be on our event correspondence.

How Much Does it Cost?

For example: an event that collects 5 tons of e-waste at a pledge of $0.01/lb would cost $100.00.

Why become a sponsor?

Each sponsor will have their company logo prominently displayed in all correspondence used to promote the event.  Being a sponsor not only shows that your company is consciously aware of the need to do something about the growing problem with e-waste, it also shows that you are doing something about it by pledging to help with its collection and disposal.

Why are you looking for sponsors?

With the speed at which technology advances these days, end-users are replacing their devices every 12-18 months.  What happens to all of those old items?  Some of them get handed down and reused, some of them get traded in, some of them get recycled and the rest either end up in the trash or sitting in a drawer/closet somewhere.  When you take these items to your local transfer station, you are charged an average of $10-15 per item, sometimes more.  An average household has 5-8 obsolete items sitting around.  Multiply that by the per item disposal fee and most of these items just sit around collecting dust because the hassle and cost is more than your average end-user wants to deal with.

We are aiming to change this by allowing everyone to drop off their electronics at no charge to either an event or one of our local drop-off locations.  The items are then picked up and disposal fees are collected from the sponsors.  We are hoping that this method brings out more devices for proper disposal while giving our sponsors exposure, as well as the businesses who act as drop-off locations for us.

How does it work?

Pledges for an event are closed once we reach our maximum sponsorship amount for the event or the day prior to the collection date, whichever comes first.  Once the items are collected they are then sorted and delivered to the recycling centers for processing.  The processing center will count and weigh all of the items and provide us with a report that breaks everything down by item type and gives a total weight collected.  We then issue an invoice for the total weight times your sponsorship pledge.  Each invoice will be sent along with the report that we receive as proof of disposal.
